Is it ever enough?

Congratulations to Todd and Curt, great running. I spoke with Luther briefly today and he said the same thing to me we all seem to say after an important race, "it could have been better." I am not trying to call out Todd, I find it amusing and it is something we all do. So it leads to my next question, are we in trouble if we ever reach the point that an outcome exceeds our expectations? The bottom line is we are a little crazy if just not completely insane to do what we do, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

This was a good week. My running feels strong and comfortable. Something happened to me after my 14 mile run that has never really happened before. I recovered in a couple of hours and had no soreness the next day. I believe the strength training and massage are paying off, not to mention the smart running miles. One problem, no happy endings.

Good luck to Storchie next weekend in New York, no doubt he will catch the Kenyans. Run monkey boy, you can do it.

10/22/06

Hello all, this is my first posting and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing.

Today was a nice easy 8.5 mile run in the very chilly streets of Coppell, TX. I am training for my first marathon, (that does not follow a 2.4 mile swim or 112 mile bike ride) and had an easy week. The fun picks back up this week.

I tried to momentarily relive my youth, and played flag football last Thursday. The next day I could hardly walk because I strained my lower abdomen and groin muscles, I am lucky to have run today with minimal pain. That's it for my whining, see you soon.
